| Description:
The Senior Application Developer works with other members of the Connecture team to deliver high quality web-based sales solutions for the health insurance industry. The Senior Application Developer is responsible for all advanced aspects of presentation-tier and middle-tier development. The Senior Application Developer must have knowledge of Connectures software development life cycle (SDLC) including: client requirements gathering, design specifications, solution development and testing of client applications, client support, training, and systems integration. This position reports directly to the Technical Manager on smaller project implementations and to the Technical Lead on large project implementations. The Senior Application Developer will begin to assume lead level responsibility as it pertains to overseeing work efforts of junior Developer resources. The direct promotion path for a Senior Application Developer is Technical Lead. Some travel to either the Atlanta or Milwaukee offices will also be expected for those team members working with cross-located project teams. |

| Required Skills:
-Minimum of 4 years development or architect experience in which the largest part of that time has been spent delivering web-based Java applications -Minimum of 4 years of proven programming experience with one or more object oriented programming languages (Java, Delphi, C++, etc.) -Minimum of 2 years working in a UNIX or Windows NT/2000 environment. -Relational Database experience (Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, Oracle). -Proficient in analyzing software requirements and documenting technical specifications for a web-based solution -Experience with the full software development life cycle, with emphasis on design and documentation activities -Client-focused attitude with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal -Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate and share solutions with fellow team members -Effective listening and problem solving skills -Recent experience in a software organization with work cycles and product complexities similar to those at Connecture Additional Skills: -Web Services a plus -Experience with Struts a plus -BEA Weblogic and/or IBM WebSphere experience a plus -Java Certified Programmer a plus |
