Description:
Team Lead & Server Application Developer. Excellent opportunity to work on cutting edge technology in a rapidly growing product space. Looking for a Team Lead to oversee 5 to 6 Engineers.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
People Management Duties
•Supervises and leads a team of 4 to 6 Server Software Engineers.
•Responsible for activities of the team including task assignment, priority, and status reporting.
•Responsible for the knowledge transfer and mentoring progress of team members.
•Approves / monitors time-off schedules for team member before sending to Manager.
Technical Duties
•Evaluates new technologies, tools and writes reports to justify their use or non-use.
•Works with Software Architect to evaluate high level designs and architectures.
•Codes high-level frameworks and hands off detailed coding to team members
•Codes non-critical path features not to affect project schedules.
•Is the “go-to-person” for team members.
•Must have hands-on Server Application development skills as list in below technical skills.

Team Lead Duties
•Participates in project planning meetings, responsible for project estimation and proposing resource assignment
•Works with Project Managers to provide direct updates and Project Insight
•Reports consolidated team status to Engineering Manager once a week
•Directs weekly team meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•5+ years of hands on development experience in a commercial software server development environment.
•Experience with all phases of product development lifecycle, including prototyping, test and product release and sustaining engineering.
•Experience in C or C++
•Experience with Oracle or Postgres.
•Experience with UNIX operating systems (including Linux) for development and basic administration.
•Experience with XML, threads and debugging practices.
•Experience of best practices in server application security and TCP/IP development.
•Desire to engage in challenging assignments.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong collaborative skills.
•Self managed proactive work style. Able to work well independently and in a team environment
•Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Sciences or related field.

A plus:
• Experience with Python a plus
• Experience with PL/SQL a plus
• Experience with FreeBSD a plus.
