Description: As a Software Developer you will be part of a highly skilled and motivated team that develops the Footprint server technology for our Content Delivery Network. You will help in the design of new features and applications for the platform, seeing development from conception and design through testing and deployment. You will also implement changes and design regression tests to make robustly permanent solutions. These systems will be built using C as the primary development language; Perl, Java and C++ are used in supporting roles where appropriate. Requirements Qualifications: • BS in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience. • Must have good working knowledge of the HTTP protocol. • First rate knowledge of C with experience of TCP/IP networking, multithreading and server development. • Development experience on Linux or other Unix flavour. • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. • Experience with the GNU GCC compiler family. • Good working knowledge of Perl and shell scripting. • The ideal candidate is goal-oriented and has the ability to handle interruptions while seamlessly switching between several projects as well as dealing with the issues that arise when running a highly available service. • Practical experience with and a deep understanding of SSL and the OpenSSL API a plus. • Extensive experience with Relational Databases a plus. • Knowledge of streaming delivery technology including codecs, network and streaming protocols, and streaming servers a plus Candidates will have a proven track record of academic and/or industrial accomplishment in computer science or a related area. Particularly relevant areas of experience include high-speed networks, scientific computing, numerical analysis, optimization, the analysis of algorithms, and operating systems.
