Description:
The Chief Executive of the Latin American Association is responsible for implementing the mission and the strategy of the organization. The CEO ensures that programs are successfully implemented and funds are raised in accordance with the goals and policies established by the LAA Board of Directors. The CEO serves as chief spokesperson for the Association.

* Provide leadership and overall management direction to the Program, Financial, Administrative and Business Unit areas within the Latin American Association
* Secure financial sustainability of the LAA by leading fundraising efforts and expanding profits from the Business Unit division
* Working with the Board, the Fundraising Committee and the Resource Development staff, oversee annual fundraising plan and successful implementation
* Develop and maintain network of funding prospects by cultivating strong relationships with funders, corporate leaders and individuals
* Responsible for the financial management of the organization including the development and implementation of an annual budget.
* Oversee the organizations financial and administrative performance and provide regular reports to the Board of Directors.
* Recommend policies and programs for Board approval.
* Facilitate the work of the Board and its committees by providing materials, staff and reports as needed.
* Responsible for creation and implementation of strategic plan.
* Provide ongoing supervision to senior team members and ensure that programmatic and financial goals are met
* Represent the LAA with other non- profits, professional organizations, governmental agencies, the media, and the community at large to promote the work and the image of the organization.
* Serve on community committees in order to ensure proper publicity and public relations for the LAA.
* Provide accountability of all assets of the organization and manage institutional risk.
* Carry chief staff responsibility to ensure compliance with legal obligations.

Required Skills:
* Must demonstrate leadership skills to build and manage an organization that meets the needs of Latinos and other non-English speaking persons.
* Must have skills to work effectively with people, secure community support and direct the work of staff.
* A minimum of three years of progressive fund-raising and management experience is a must
* Proven experience in finance and public relations
* Must be bilingual in Spanish and English, both oral and written.
* Must have a combination of educational, professional and life experience to permit identification of and response to needs and concerns of Latinos and other target groups
* Must understand social/cultural effects on Latinos and be aware of factors which can bring about needed change

Education:
* Graduate degree preferred
