| Description:
Division: Finance Department: ISS Status (Executive or Hourly): Executive • Develop and implement software applications. • Implement and support the integration of new technology i.e. software, third party applications, and hardware components. • Interact with end user community to design and discuss applications. • Support existing systems and applications. • Interfaces with IT to enhance reporting capabilities of proprietary systems • Creates and completes reporting tools on all key performance indicators for the Organization; expense, productivity, average wage, sales performance, etc • Reviews primary data produced from expense, productivity, AVW and sales performance reports to provide preliminary recommendations to staffing/expense organization 40% Programming\Development 20% End User support –data analysis, enhancement recommendation, exception report creation 20% Management and maintenance of existing systems 20% Analyze primary expense & staffing data, communicate observations and recommendations to staffing team Number of Direct Reports: 0 Number of Indirect Reports: 0 • Make effective coding decisions druring application development and debugging. • Determine best course of action in order to satisfy customer. • Resolve PC application issues. • Independently creates correct reporting and analysis tools used in presentations to Senior Team members • Advises VP/DVP on additional analysis to improve business results • Influences IT partners to improve/enhance current operating systems • Participates in decisions affecting resource allocation for the entire stores organization (expense, people, supplies) • Independently research variance to expected result and suggest actions • Independently navigate proprietary data bases, and mine appropriate data • Invents new reporting tools based on knowledge of business and systems (EXCEL, ACCESS, SQL) |

| Required Skills:
• Creating effective applications requires creativity, resourcefulness, and inventiveness. • The programmer must have the ability to quickly learn new software and processes. • The position requires extensive problem-solving skills to overcome technical barriers such as access to data and processing or software limitations. Knowledge of business and systems (EXCEL, ACCESS, SQL) Previous experience in a highly analytical position is required. Strong mathematical skills are required. VB/VBA and relational database experience is required. May include: Microsoft Excel – Advanced Microsoft Access – Intermediate Microsoft Visual Basic – Intermediate Relational Database – Intermediate Microsoft ASP/Visual Interdev – Intermediate HTML – Intermediate Eztrieve – Intermediate Should understand basic retailing concepts such as merchandising, logistics, planning as well. Desired: Retail experience or application development experience within the retail industry Knowledge of existing systems and applications, specifically staffing-oriented. |
