Description:

This position is located in client headquarters office in Charolttesville, VA , recently voted "the best place to live" based on quality of life. They are nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in central Virginia, approximately ninety miles west of Richmond and within a two-hour-plus drive of Washington, DC. Ranked the #1 "Best Small City in the South" by Money Magazine in 1998, Charlottesville is bordered by the scenic Sky Line Drive and the Shenandoah National Forest, and is the home of Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and The University of Virginia. Client is willing to cover some relocation expenses.





Responsibilities:

Provide analysis, problem identification and support for a variety Progress Applications.

• Provide Progress coding, testing, and analysis on new projects and business initiatives.

• Receive user support inquiries via the Help Desk system. Investigate, resolve, and follow-up on user inquiries and problems.

• Learn and understand business processes and associated applications.

• Document new knowledge items in a manner consistent with the guidelines established for maintaining the knowledge base.

• Demonstrate ability to learn new applications by quickly developing a high level of functional expertise.

• Demonstrate ability to work effectively as a team member.

Required Skills:

2+ years experience with Progress v8 (or above) GUI and application programming support.

1+ Years experience with Progress Webspeed development

2+ years experience with web based programming (ASP, .NET, JavaScript, HTML).

Ability to visually review specifications documents and provide input on successfully implementing business solutions

Excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.



Desired:

Progress v10 Openedge experience

SQL Server 2000/2005 familiarity.

Experience with online financial transactions and modules

Ability to function under close deadlines with minimal supervision.



Education:

Associates degree in a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred

(Combinations of college-level course work in information systems and relevant experience can substitute for a degree.)
