Description:

Direct Reports



Daily writing/editing, planning/coordination and producing engaging content. In addition to creating own stories, works with partners, authors and freelance writers to integrate their materials and content into the channel. Monitors program quality and leads problem solving efforts, preserving the creative environment for the channel and multiple sub-channel areas.

-Manages effectiveness, relevance, timeliness and editorial value for assigned channels.

-Writes daily editorial programming content on deadline, targeted to specific audiences and products

-Works with graphics, photo editors and other teams to deliver programming on deadline

-Works with team to develop programming to drive usage, traffic, member interaction, and to fulfill channel's business goals

- Serves as advocate balancing editorial and commerce objectives with channel programming goals

-Responsible for creating engaging and enhanced consumer experiences

-Monitors click-through and traffic data to ensure goals are being met on a timely basis

-Ensures the timely completion and delivery of programs.

-Makes data-driven programming decisions.

-Reviews and interprets user data and draws conclusions with regard to their implication on programming operations and placement decisions.

-Interprets trends in data for later use in decision making.

-Manages Search Engine Optimization and works with team to ensure SEO compliance. Works closely with other channels to leverage cross promotion opportunities

Required Skills:

Superior writing, editing, proofreading, copywriting, HTML skills

Able to act and write quickly under pressure, react nimbly to real-time events and manage the publishing process

Detail-oriented able to juggle multiple tasks and changing priorities

Strong sense of popular culture with the ability to spot consumer and media trends

Able to distill large amounts of information into clear, concise text

Strong interpersonal skills in order to maintain and develop relationships with external partners and departments across the service

Strong computer programming skills

Understands the medium, industry, market and the audience

Possess the ability to develop and maintain networking relationships both internally and externally.

Broad technical knowledge: understand the capabilities of the service and effectively uses technical tools, applications and procedures.

Excellent team player, within programming organization and across the company

Advanced knowledge of Search Engine Optimization



Desired:

Strong consumer editorial background in magazines, newspapers and/or online, or related fields

Experience with tight publishing deadlines

Headline writing and/or promotional writing
