Reason for Opening: expansion Work on a great team, utilizing cutting-edge technology to support client who is responsible for designing and producing a variety of maps for users in the field, local government partners, public use with data releases, publications, and various other uses. The candidate will be a part of a team that is involved in the design of both a specialized cartographic database and software tools to meet its batch mapping needs in the newly designed Oracle 10g Spatial environment. This position involves creativity combined with technical "know how" to address cutting-edge technical issues for this system and tools. You will be part of a team that is pioneering new ways of creating maps using Oracle 10g and will have an opportunity to explore and use Oracle 10g topology. You will also work with other Senior Software Developers and Engineers to design and develop a system that will allow maps to be created through a fully automated batch system, where customized software applications process the data from the spatial database according to preset project-specific cartographic parameters and create electronic map files in graphics formats such as Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF), all without any user interaction. | Required Skills:
Senior level experience Skilled in Object Oriented Design 8+ years experience designing large database systems in an Oracle environment 8+ years experience in PL/SQL including stored procedures, packages and functions 2+ years experience working with Oracle Spatial Experience in writing PL/SQL to optimize spatial geometry functions for cartographic database creation and entity-based map image processing Experience in working in a team environment with tight deadlines Candidate must be able to obtain a Confidential Clearance and be a US citizen or have an H1B visa and have lived in the US for at least 2 years. |
