Description:

The primary responsibility for the position is to be responsible for major design decisions, implementations, mentoring, and planning. The successful candidate will contribute new ideas and technical directions, but also be able to roll up their sleeves and implement them.





Provide technical direction and strategy for both internal and external applications



Design and develop highly reliable, available, and performance applications



Occasional hands-on Proof-of-Concept (POC) or development work



Mentor both senior and junior developers

Required Skills:

Minimum 2 full cycle architecture and hands-on experience, for enterprise level projects

Must have hands-on experience as an architect for large scale enterprise level SOA projects

Must have hands-on experience with Hibernate and Spring

Experience with any of the following models: RAD, JAD, Agile, eXtreme Programming, UML, or RUP

Strong SQL Database design/logical and physical data model skills

Understanding of architecture design and its relation to infrastructure requirements

Understanding tradeoffs of technology vs. project cost & timing vs. on-going production support

Ability to document requirements in a structured format (e.g., UML)

Must be able to work independently with minimum guidance and supervision

Must possess excellent written and verbal skills

SOA - Advanced knowledge required

Hibernate - Advanced knowledge required

Spring - Advanced knowledge required

Any of the following: Portal, ESB, Rules Engine, BPM Engine - Intermediate knowledge required

10 - 15 years of overall technology experience

6 - 8 years J2EE Design and programming skills

4 - 5 years J2EE Application Frameworks and Security



Desired:

Hands-on experience on any of the following: Portal, ESB, Rules Engine, BPM Engine

Experience with Open Source software development

Experience with ASP, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and VB 6

Open Source software development - Intermediate knowledge

Any of the following models: RAD, JAD, Agile, eXtreme Programming, UML, or RUP - Intermediate knowledge

SQL Database design/logical and physical data model skills - Intermediate knowledge

ASP, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and VB 6 - Intermediate knowledge



Education:

Bachelor Degree, Computer Science or related field of study

Master's Degree: Preferred
