Job SummarySupport the Controller in timely and accurate financial reporting and business analysis. Prepare cost standards, analyze operational results and participate in operational team efforts.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities Assist Controller in closing and reporting duties, including journal entries, general ledger, account reconciliations and the preparation of monthly/quarterly reports.
Establish, maintain, and monitor cost variance reporting for the plant.
Review, propose, and approve changes to standard cost data maintained by staff accountant.
Primary detail accounting resource to support needs of operations and mining teams.
Accounting resource for projects including CAPEX, cost savings, and strategic review.
Accounting resource to assist managers in developing forecast and budget models.
Assist in preparing monthly forecasts and the annual budget.
Support and assist all accounting related audits to include outside financial audits, internal and governmental audits.
Monitor inventory levels and provide guidance on proper levels.
Cross-train with other Finance department personnel in order to be able to serve as backup.

Knowledge of financial report writing is preferred
Education/Experience Requirements
BS degree in Finance, Accounting
Minimum of five years of experience in cost analysis and financial reporting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Environment Office / plant environment
Plant environment activities include monitoring inventory levels, working with plant and mining personnel, studying and understanding cost impact of the various processes.
Some travel may be required
