Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to contribute to the growth, effectiveness and profitability of the client by managing the IT Architecture Group and providing senior architectural leadership for the design and development of enterprise systems. The incumbent in this position is primarily responsible for the integration and ongoing development of technologies and services that deliver highly available, highly performant, and scalable applications to a wide spectrum of users and stakeholders. This position also limits potential liability to client by designing applications and networks that are resistant to security attacks and by ensuring robust and secure architectures that will prevent unnecessary expense incurred due to poor architectural design. The role reports directly to the Senior Director, IT Governance and manages a team of five or more senior architects as direct reports. This position works with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions:
â?¢ Work with Senior IT and staff to ensure that technology architecture is best-in-class
â?¢ Manages the IT Architecture Team
â?¢ Leads the evolution of the architecture function, including the coordination of an appropriately balanced pursuit of enterprise business, information, technical and solution architecture viewpoints
â?¢ Acts as a senior leader who can represent IT at all levels, both internally and externally
â?¢ Develops a deep understanding of the business model and goals in order to develop a comprehensive architectural plan that aligns business goals to itâ??s technology objectives
â?¢ Works with application groups, business groups and the various technical areas to oversee in the design of all layers of the architecture, including application, database, systems, infrastructure, statistical analysis, informatics, storage and network layers
â?¢ Works with other architects and technical leads within the organization to lead and drive technical strategy relating back to the business initiatives and goals
â?¢ Leads in the on-going development of technical roadmap(s) and new technical architectural and best practice strategies to support business strategies and to achieve business excellence
â?¢ Works with multiple technical staff to develop a strong understanding of all current technologies and emerging technologies that may be used to support initiatives and goals
â?¢ Performs gap analysis assessments of developing strategies and existing operations to identify opportunities for alignment and improvement
â?¢ Assists in financial analysis, business case, and justification for initiatives
â?¢ Assists and evaluates business partners who can provide improved technical solutions and benefits to our enterprise
â?¢ Maintains the architecture knowledgebase and artifacts adhering to all documentation standards; catalog and make architectural documentation available on a secured basis
â?¢ Develops and be an evangelist for compliance, policies, and procedures
â?¢ Provides leadership, guidance and direction to management, staff and business leaders as needed
â?¢ Rationalizes all key architectural decisions for reuse, redundancy, operating, and cost effectiveness
â?¢ Mentors customers, partners, and internal staff on the proper use of the architecture
â?¢ Works with the technical leadership to ensure that all individual project architecture components align with the direction of the Enterprise Architecture
â?¢ Leads architectural projects according to strategies and plans for projects/platforms, ensuring overall alignment to the IT strategy
â?¢ Evaluates staff needsâ??coaching, motivating and developing team members
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
â?¢ Bachelorâ??s degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience required. MS degree in computer science or a related field is desirable.
â?¢ Previous experience as a successful enterprise architect
â?¢ Minimum 10+ years of experience in at least two IT disciplines (such as technical architecture, solution architecture, network management, application development, middleware design, information analysis, database management or operations management) in a heterogeneous environment or 7+ years of experience in solution architecture, business analysis or business strategic planning

â?¢ Understanding or familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks is highly desired
â?¢ Understanding of or experience with integrating cloud solutions is highly desired
â?¢ Knowledge of configuration management industry and best practices and standards
â?¢ Knowledge of Quality Assurance industry and best practices and standards
â?¢ Requirements management skills
â?¢ Knowledge an EA Tool is desirable
â?¢ Knowledge of network and application security required
â?¢ Knowledge of financial systems required
â?¢ Experience developing and implementing processes and procedures
â?¢ Experience designing, developing and implementing robust DR/BCP architectures
â?¢ Expert-level knowledge of architecture principles and practices across technology, business, applications, and data architecture
â?¢ Strong proficiency with OO design/programming, design patterns, database development and n-tier architectures
â?¢ Proficiency with Internet/WAN/LAN topology, web/infrastructure hardware/software/ protocols/concepts (such as routers, switches, firewalls, proxies, load balancing, failover, TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, PKI, Cookies, Sessions, etc.), and Payment Card Industry Digital Security Standard requirements
â?¢ Command of Java/J2EE, XML, XSLT, XSD, HTML5, SQL, AJAX, JQuery, Javascript, and related technologies
â?¢ Strong experience with integration, LDAP, content management system, portal, and eCommerce technologies desired
â?¢ Experience with Oracle productsâ??specifically, Oracle Financials and SOâ??is desired
â?¢ Effectiveness in driving short-term actions that are consistent with long-term goals
â?¢ Demonstrated reputation for being respected as a leader, influential in the organization and a team player
â?¢ Demonstrated commitment to supporting the business and its ideals and strategies
â?¢ Ability to remain neutral toward technology, vendor and product choices, as well as to be more interested in results than in personal preferences
