Description:
This position will involve working with cutting edge software and hardware technologies in the area of Application Service Provision (ASP). The position is a key role within our fast growing organization that delivers enterprise class web based database management solutions to small and medium sized companies. The candidate would be primarily responsible for creating and maintaining web site, servers and databases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain the web site, servers and databases ensuring that production systems including IIS Web Servers and SQL Server databases are available to customers and the general public on 24 x 7 x 365 basis.

• Work with the development team to design and implement new features, fixes and updates to the web site and underlying web applications.

• Project Management skills necessary to design, plan and implement a project plan for a specific customer or an entire system.

• Work with the production team in fulfillment area to design imports/exports that will be used to perform custom fulfillments for our clients.

• Monitor server usage and assist the networking department to planning and implementing hardware upgrades designed to improve performance.

• Work with the networking department to troubleshoot, diagnose and fix network related problems that cause the web site to be off-line. Candidate will be included in an on-call rotation for off-hours problem resolution.

• Work with partners/vendors and interface with outside web sites in an effort to offer our clients additional services.

Required Skills:
SPECIFIC TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Internet Information Server (IIS) configuration and administration.

• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Windows Server Administration.

• Intermediate networking knowledge including an understanding of TCP/IP and associated configuration options under Windows NT 4.0 such as DNS and DHCP. Ideal candidate should understand TCP/IP commands such as PING, TRACERT, WINIPCFG, etc. Ideal candidate should also understand e-mail protocols such as SMTP and POP3. Candidate should also posses some communications background in the area of T-lines, routers and hubs.

• Candidate should have knowledge of database connectivity from a web server to a Microsoft SQL Server database. Candidate should know SQL and how to connect to a Microsoft SQL Server database using one or more of the following web development tools: MacroMedia ColdFusion, ASP or ASP.NET.


BACKGROUND QUALIFICATIONS:

The Web Developer must have at least three years experience developing data driven web pages and at least two years experience with one or more of the following technologies: ASP, ASP.net or ColdFusion. The candidate also must have at least one year of experience with the current version of Microsoft SQL Server. The qualified individual must be creative with an eye for detail and aesthetics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Functional and technical specification writing will be required as well as face-to-face client meetings to discuss system specifications.
