Description:

Senior Clinical Analyst, working individually, as well as on teams of analysts and subject matter experts, performing functional and non-functional requirements specification, as well as conceptual design work for the company's solutions (products plus services). Position requires demonstrated expertise in the requirements of and design approaches to highly clinical healthcare solutions. Responsible for addressing our customers’ myriad, demanding challenges, by understanding and prioritizing feature requests, skillfully specifying requirements, and designing innovative solutions.



Serves as a clinical requirements liaison to all internal and external stakeholders. Insures smooth coordination between requirements specification and conceptual design work, on the one hand, with implementation design and coding, content development, testing, and implementation work, on the other hand. Keeps sales, marketing, and customer care fully informed, helping them understand product positioning, feature capabilities and benefits, as well as targeted customers. Mentors others on the Product Management team with his or her clinical thought leadership.



Duties: Gain a thorough understanding of the product and its features / functionality, as well as the issues and challenges it addresses in the practice of Emergency Medicine.





Lead, as well as participate in requirements specification and conceptual design teams that produce superior solutions to customer needs.





Using methods such as interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and task / workflow analysis, participate in requirements specification and conceptual design teams that produce superior solutions to customer needs.





Specify, design and document solutions to important clinical product issues, such as efficient clinical workflows and meaningful clinical decision support.





Manage requirements traceability and changes, track requirements status throughout the project, and resolve issues that occur.





Insure that all market-facing, as well as relevant internal inputs are systematically elicited, incorporated, and accounted for in all work products.





Insure that the company’s solutions take into account all relevant healthcare IT clinical standards and conventions.





Assist software development and QA by researching and resolving defect questions. Negotiate an acceptable solution as conflicts arise. Escalate issues as necessary to the appropriate management level.





Assist account managers, documenters, and technical support by researching and providing information about the product as needed to address customer issues and questions. Escalate issues as necessary to the appropriate management level.



Required Skills:

10+ years of healthcare experience, including 5+ years of clinical experience in a hospital setting, preferably in the Emergency Department or Critical Care area and 5+ years of experience in a requirements analyst position, using contemporary requirements specification methods, such as:



-Use Case Analysis; and



-Unified Modeling Language (UML)





A solid understanding of product management, requirements elicitation, system analysis, and conceptual design work.





Demonstrated work skills, including juggling multiple competing priorities and conflicting stakeholder interests, while interacting skillfully with others to produce the required deliverables on schedule and with high quality in a matrixed staffing environment.





Demonstrated capacity to influence and mentor others.



Education:

BSN, or equivalent degree. Prefer a Masters degree in an informatics discipline, (e.g. MSIS), or an MSN, plus formal healthcare informatics training.
