| Description:
As the EMR Product Manager, you will manage an EMR application especially designed for emergency department clinical documentation and workflow. This product is already a market leader in the rapidly growing emergency department informatics market. You will be responsible for understanding and prioritizing feature requests from current customers and the marketplace; in order to maximize customer satisfaction and new sales. You must possess a unique blend of clinical, business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You will lead a team of business and requirement analysts dedicated to this product. You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with an engineering counterpart to define product release goals and functional requirements. You will work with clinicians in defining product functionality and clinical workflow. You will work with marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working as needed with sales and key customers. You will need to gain a thorough understanding of the product and its features / functionality, as well as the issues and challenges it addresses in the practice of Emergency Medicine. 1. Create and maintain the roadmap for a suite of technical products which complement the companys industry leading paper documentation solutions. 2. Manage the product release process from definition through delivery and ongoing maintenance. 3. Work with account managers to understand the needs of existing customers and balance them against market needs to determine the products future direction both tactically and strategically. 4. Work with the Clinical Resources teams Subject Matter Experts to identify and document the clinical requirements and workflows required to achieve optimal market value and customer satisfaction in the released product. |

| Education:
Prefer 5 or more years of product management experience for a commercial software product with at least 3 of those years at management level. Should have at least 3 years of product management experience working with clinical subject matter experts in the field of medicine preferably Emergency Medicine or Critical Care. Prior professional experience as a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse in a hospital setting. Emergency department or Critical Care experience very desirable. You should have fundamental knowledge of the clinical work environment for a hospital or hospital department. Excellent team and project management skills, verbal and written communication skills, and managerial skills with the ability to assign and monitor work. You should have experience writing functional business requirements for a commercial software product; experience writing enterprise-class software requirements and specifications a plus. Your experience should include familiarity with iterative software development methodologies and the ability to describe functional requirements in a phased approach facilitating implementation and deployment of the functionality in an iterative fashion. You will be working with Subject Matter Experts who have minimal knowledge of Software Development Best Practices and capturing their domain knowledge as well-formed business requirements. Experience writing use cases, GUI Design, Human Factors Engineering, or User Interface Design Standards. Familiarity with database-centric requirements management tools (e.g., Caliber, Optimal Trace, etc). Ability to travel 25% of time. |
