Summary Directs production, distribution, maintenance, and quality operations for a blown film/blown molding/extrusion plastics plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Coordinates production, distribution, maintenance and quality operations in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by company and the Director of North American Manufacturing and Distribution Operations.

Confers with customers and sales representatives to evaluate and promote product lines and customer service.

Control allocation and use of resources to ensure fulfillment of corporate goals.

Establish production and quality control standards.

Facilitate and direct the development of budgets and cost control measures.

Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, facility needs, and equipment needs.

Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.

Review production and operating reports and direct the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

Review analysis of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine plant progress toward stated goals and objectives.

Confers with appropriate administrative and financial personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals and objectives resulting from current status and conditions.

Develop and plan for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.

Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of plant.






Supervisory Responsibilities

Provide supervision and evaluation of four subordinate Managers in the Maintenance, Distribution, Production and Finance area. Together with the subordinate supervisors, provides supervision and direction to a total of 67 employees. Has responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the plant. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Two to three years related experience and/or training is required; a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in the area of engineering, business, manufacturing is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

English is the primary language spoken in the plant. Written and spoken English skills are required.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; SAP Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
